Removing pest plants

Invasive weeds are more than just garden pests—they pose a serious risk to our native plants and wildlife. These fast-spreading species overwhelm and displace the unique flora that make our region special. If we don’t act, the rich biodiversity and natural beauty of our ecosystems could be lost. That’s why Tiakina Te Taitokerau is supporting communities across Northland to remove pest plants from our urban environments.

Understanding invasive plant species is key to stopping their spread. Follow us on Facebook for our ‘Weed of the Moment’ posts—featuring tips to help identify and control some of Northlands most problematic pest plant species.
